Ways to Volunteer at Fox Valley Literacy

Become a Volunteer Tutor

At Fox Valley Literacy, we believe everyone deserves the chance to succeed. In Wisconsin, where 1 in 7 adults struggles with basic literacy, your support is crucial. We’re seeking passionate volunteer tutors to help empower adults in our community through free classes in English, General Education, Civics & Citizenship, and more.

By becoming a tutor, you can play a vital role in breaking the cycle of low literacy, helping individuals gain the skills they need to secure better employment, support their families, and fully engage in civic life. Working alongside adult learners fosters a unique perspective on the challenges faced by individuals, which can lead to greater empathy and cultural growth. Tutors also benefit from the rewarding relationships they build with their students and their families. If you have questions about tutoring at Fox Valley Literacy or want to get started, visit our Becoming a Tutor page, see the FAQs or email: info@foxvalleylit.org

Other Ways to Volunteer

At Fox Valley Literacy, we rely on the support of dedicated volunteers like you!
In addition to volunteer tutors, we’re seeking help with these needs:

  • Child supervision while our students are learning.

  • Transportation for our students to and from lessons.

  • Office tasks that help us support our learners.

  • Assistance with community events.

Your involvement can make a significant impact on the lives of adults striving to improve their literacy skills.

By volunteering, you’ll not only support our educational programs but also help create a welcoming environment for learners and their families. Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant impact on adults striving to improve their literacy skills. See the General Volunteer FAQs page for more information.
